Brevard County's first medical marijuana dispensary opens: report

Brevard County‘s first medical marijuana dispensary officially opened in Palm Bay on Thursday, according to a report on floridatoday.com.

More than 50 people, carrying medical marijuana cards, ventured into Curaleaf to purchase products ranging from capsules to oils to flowers.

Prior to the opening of Curaleaf at 1420 Palm Bay Road NE, the nearest medical marijuana dispensaries to Brevard were in Vero to the south in Indian River County and Edgewater to the north in Volusia County, the website reported.

“It’s very important to the residents due to the fact that many of them that suffer from the conditions that can be treated by medical marijuana have to drive many hours to pick up their orders,” said Michelle Terrell, director of sales and marketing for Curaleaf.

Orlando has three medical marijuana dispensaries.

Surterra opened a site in April near Orlando Health, joining Knox Cannabis Dispensary which opened the city’s first one on Orange Avenue in Ivanhoe Village and Trulieve Orlando which operates one on Orange Blossom Trail at Lee Road.
