SARANAC LAKE — Curaleaf New York will host a North Country “Cannabis 101” seminar from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, at Saranac Lake Free Public Library, 109 Main St., to provide North Country patients with important information about medical cannabis and the New York State Department of Health’s medical marijuana program.
“We encourage anyone who is curious or has questions about medical marijuana and its availability in New York to attend Cannabis 101 and meet with our pharmacist and staff to learn more,” Mike Conway, Curaleaf’s director of dispensary operations, said in a media release. “Medical cannabis has helped thousands of people throughout the state treat their chronic and painful conditions, and it’s an important treatment option for patients to learn more about and consider.”
At the event, which is free to attend, Curaleaf pharmacist Craig Brozek will discuss the benefits of medical cannabis, its ability to treat certain conditions and how patients can determine if it is the right treatment for them. He will also review the eligibility requirements for New York’s medical marijuana program and provide important information about how patients can register for the program and obtain medical cannabis products in the area.
