Medical marijuana? There are few cases where medical marijuana will work, and one is Status Epilepticus, where a child has one seizure after another.
Oil of cannabis reduces these seizures, but the patient is debilitated from the seizure and is now stoned. Hundreds of others have said it benefits them. In the 1700s, England was expanding its empire into India, and many soldiers discovered cannabis, which they lit in a clay pot and inhaled the fumes. After so many treatments of this type, they became paranoid and were put in chains to be shipped back to England, tied to the decks of those ships.
The doctor, who examined them when they arrived back in England declared they had brain damage, were paranoid, and also suffered from testicular atrophy, and numerous other things. The drug guru, Timothy O’Leary, so burned out his brain with marijuana that he could not remember where he lived and his friends had to pin instructions onto the inside of his coat so that whoever found him wandering around would know where he lived. The Sunday comics, several years back, had a character discussing the merits of a certain strain of marijuana which gave him a very good high and withdrawal with minimum paranoia.
Since this is going to become widespread, there will be times when people go paranoid and injure or kill themselves/others, as has been reported several times in the last few years. Recently, there was a story on nationwide news about a marijuana-impaired driver crashing and killing passengers of another vehicle.
