RESEDA — Three people were arrested Thursday and more than 100 pounds of cannabis was seized from an illegal cannabis dispensary in Reseda, where police had served a search warrant.
The warrant was served about 10 a.m. in the 18400 block of Vanowen Street, near Reseda Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Detectives began monitoring the location after receiving numerous complaints and noticing an increase in crime in the surrounding neighborhoods, police said.
“This location was run in a very clandestine manner and not as a lawful business,” said Capt. Natalie Cortez, commanding officer of the LAPD’s West Valley Division. “It did not embrace the close-knit community values of Reseda.”
The investigation revealed that the dispensary was operating outside the law and did not take any steps to become a legal business, police said.
Three people were arrested in connection with the warrant and more than 100 pounds of cannabis was seized, as well as undisclosed amount of U.S. currency, police said.
