The San Diego Police Department‘s Narcotics Unit had a busy week.
Thursday around 1 p.m., the unit served a search warrant at Mother Earth, an alleged illegal marijuana dispensary located at 7060 Miramar Road. During the raid, police seized marijuana, over 300 marijuana concentrates and edibles, and $500 in cash, according to Lt. Matt Novak.
The dispensary’s manager, 30-year-old Robert Cook, was arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana for sale and operating a business without a permit; the owner was not present but will also be charged, according to Novak.
Wednesday around 9 a.m. the same police unit served two search warrants related to an alleged illegal marijuana delivery service called Alternate Patient Care. The first search warrant was served at a business suite located at 4535 30th Street, believed to be APC’s office. The second warrant was served at the home of the APC’s owners, located in the 7900 block of Valdosta Ave.
As officers raided the APC office, it was determined that a second illegal marijuana delivery service–Fast Track–was operating out of the same site, according to Novak. Fast Grass was operated by different owners than APC, Novak added.
Marijuana, methamphetamine, concentrated cannabis and edibles, cash, business documents and records were seized from APC’s offices. APC’s alleged owners–Sarah Goodale, 31, and Lauren Walsh, 27–along with two APC employees were arrested; two Fast Grass employees were also arrested.
According to Novak, further arrests stemming from the raid are expected.
