Jodie Emery has a new drug of choice: coffee.
The longtime pot advocate recently opened a café in Kensington Market, Jodie’s Joint. The establishment serves locally-roasted coffee and baked goods — many of them enhanced by hemp, a variation of the cannabis plant commonly used in foods and manufacturing.
“We’re only moving pounds of (coffee) beans, as I say now,” said Emery about her new business, located at 235 Augusta Ave, which had its official opening last week.
